Prairie Pioneer Days
Prairie Pioneer Days is an annual community celebration on the Fourth of July. It kicks off on the evening of July third with a worship service in the park. On the Fourth of July, there is a parade down Nebraska Avenue, and then activities and local organizations host food stands in the City Park. The celebration continues into the evening with a barbeque and co-ed softball game, and the day concludes with a nice fireworks display.
Merry and Bright
Another annual event in Arapahoe is Merry and Bright. During this event each December, businesses host special deals, offer Christmas treats, and people gather as a community to spread cheer. In the evening, there is a Christmas Tree lighting event to top off the Christmas spirit. This event with the Christmas lights displayed downtown create the most uplifting environment.
*This event has been canceled for 2020 due to COVID19.
On occasion, there will be special events for the community. In July 2020, Tornado Alley hosted a "drive-in" movie. In October 2020, Cappel Chiropractic hosted Arapahoe's first color run to raise funds for the library. Watch our calendar to be engaged with future community events!
